The road to rooftop site management and communications site management has been an interesting evolution. Bill Hickox began the original and basic commercial real estate based business in 1974 as a brokerage firm, under the name Hickox Investments. Among numerous real estate brokerage clients were various radio and television stations, whom Hickox served in acquiring land for antennas and antenna towers, as well as buildings for business sites and studio facilities. His RF electronics knowledge of years past had, in 1977, allowed expanding the real estate client services base to include RF electronics clients, but not yet the rooftop site management aspect, as the need for rooftop antenna site management was still not yet beginning to develop as a major and wide spread viable income generating consideration for building and property owners.

In 1982, Hickox Development Corporation, a Texas Corporation, was formed, which became the parent company of the real estate brokerage and soon after, an electronics division named Tejas RF Technology, specializing in RF electronics design, consulting, and limited manufacturing.

Bill Hickox' enjoys a "hands-on" approach to all his business activities, a fact significantly valued by many building owners and managers. He brings together considerable communications technical expertise as well as in-depth commercial real estate experience. This experience package is rare in the rooftop site management and riser management and communications riser management industry even today. The broad knowledge is used daily in translating communiations requirements and needs of Tenants and Building representatives into basic terms commonly understood by all. Legalities of each expertise are also considered in all Hickox negotiated agreements, for a very unique risk management format that includes rooftop site management, communications riser management and real estate investment ownership.

As the internet became the world's favorite (and preferred) communications media, Hickox created Hickox Communications, another division of Hickox Development Corporation, thus blending this new electronics communications site management services with the on-going real estate brokerage and investement services to meet the new demands thrust upon his client major building owners and property management companies by growing demands of the multitide of TSPs (telecom service providers).

Bill Hickox is a Licensed Real Estate Broker, continually licensed by the Texas Real Estate Commission since 1974 and still actively involved in this business. Hickox Development Corporation has, since its inception, also been licensed continually by the TREC. All TREC issued Real Estate Brokerage licenses are and remain current and active.

Hickox Communications has contributed and continues to create many nationwide changes and refinements to the rooftop site management, rooftop site consulting, and the newly developing communications riser management industry.
